Teachers play a critical role in shaping our youth and fostering their academic growth and social development. The Iowa Agriculture Literacy Foundation (IALF) is grateful for its relationship with Iowa’s educators, and we are proud to provide support and resources for teachers in the classroom.
As we recognize and celebrate teachers during Teacher Appreciation Week (May 2-6), IALF would like to say, “Thank you!” to the outstanding teachers across this state. Teachers are more than educators; they are mentors, coaches, advisors, counselors and role models to our kids and grandchildren. They play a significant role in shaping the next generation of leaders in Iowa.
Agriculture is a big part of Iowa’s cultural heritage and a huge economic driver in our state. In fact, one in five Iowans work in agriculture or an ag-related field. This means many students today will have a future career related to the agriculture industry whether that be on or off a farm.
IALF serves as a central resource for educators who want to teach Iowa’s students about agriculture, providing a practical and exciting way to incorporate STEM, literacy, and history into their lesson plans. Whether it is resources, programs, professional development, or providing a listening ear and expertise to incorporate ag education, IALF is proud to support Iowa teachers and celebrate them during Teacher Appreciation Week.
