- Is this a Farm Bureau program? Who’s involved?
While the Iowa Farm Bureau helped spearhead the effort, resulting from our grassroots strategic planning process, IALF will be chartered as a non-profit organization. The contributors and representatives of IALF are from a diverse group of agriculture, education, and business leaders including IFBF, IPPA, ICGA, the Silos and Smokestacks Foundation, ISA, IDALS, Iowa Dept. of Education, DuPont Pioneer, FFA, ISU Extension & Outreach and 4-H.
IALF is governed by an eight member board of directors that includes: IFBF, IPPA, ICGA, the Silos and Smokestacks Foundation, ISA, IDALS, Iowa Dept. of Education and DuPont Pioneer. The board structure of IALF also includes representatives from an Agriculture Literacy Industry Council and an Agriculture Literacy Education Advisory Council. The Agriculture Literacy Education Advisory Council appointments were made with a special emphasis on teachers and farmers. IALF is staffed by a full-time executive director, education program manager, and an administrative assistant.
